Lorry crashes into tree in early Sunday morning accident

A lorry crashed into a tree along Yishun Avenue 3 early this morning (Jul 12) at about 5.30am. The driver, a man in his 50s, was trapped and had to released using a hydraulic spreader and cutter.
According to a spokesperson from the Singapore Civil Defence Force (SCDF):
“At 0539 hrs, SCDF was alerted to a road traffic incident involving a lorry which had hit a tree along the above location.

“SCDF responded within 4 minutes to the location.

“Upon arrival, SCDF officers found the driver (male, Chinese, 50s), trapped in the driver’s seat. The driver was released by SCDF using a hydraulic spreader and cutter. SCDF paramedics were on scene to stabilize the casualty’s condition.

“The driver sustained fracture on his lower right leg, and was conscious when conveyed by SCDF ambulance to Tan Tock Seng Hospital.”
