New road signages at Jurong junction directs drivers two different ways

A STOMPer will like to highlight that there are two differing signages along Jurong East Street 13, one of which leads drivers the wrong way.

Due to some recent amendments to the road layout at Jurong East Street 12, authorities have put up a new road sign to guide drivers. However, the new sign conflicts with the old one, further confusing drivers.

Says this STOMPer:

“I would like to highlight that there are two differing signages along Jurong East Street 13 leading to the junction with Jurong East Street 12.

“Recently, there was an amendment to the road layout of Jurong East Street 12.

“Vehicles going to Boon Lay Way now has to use the new road beside The JTC Summit to access to Boon Lay Way after the partial closure of Jurong East Street 12 from below Jurong East MRT to Boon Lay Way.

“This created alot of confusion for frequent drivers of the area and new signages were placed. However, the new signages placed gave differing directions as well.

“The first sign (sign in blue) shows that vehicles going to Boon Lay Way are supposed to turn right and keep to the inner lane. The second sign (sign in green) ahead shows that vehicles going to Boon Lay Way are to keep left and go straight, which is conflicting with the earlier sign.

“For the record, the second sign is the correct sign.

“Would also like to recommend that the relevant authorities should check all street signages before they are put up, especially for major changes to an important junction such as above, as well as to quickly replace the incorrect road sign as right now it is causing alot of confusion for drivers.”
