Concrete slabs fall onto road: Traffic cops slow to warn of extreme hazard

A STOMPer was shocked to see two gigantic concrete slabs obstructing one of two lanes on Nicoll Highway. What’s worse, nothing was done 30 minutes after the road hazard was reported to the Traffic Police.

Says the STOMPer:

“I would like to report an extremely dangerous road hazard.

“At 9 pm, on August 18, I was driving from Mountbatten Road towards the City.

“As I was trying to filter left to Nicoll Highway, I was shocked to see two gigantic concrete cylindrical pre-fabricated slabs which must have rolled off a truck transporting such objects towards the city.

“These objects obstructed one of the two lanes and unsuspecting vehicles had to jam their brakes to avoid an accident.

“The Traffic Police was promptly advised.

“However, half an hour later, while I was driving home from the opposite side of Nicoll Highway towards Mountbatten, I stopped at the traffic light and was surprised to see that nothing was done to warn motorists of the road hazard.”

STOMP understands that the concrete slabs are about 3m by 1.5m in size. No one was injured in the incident and a crane was needed to remove the pieces from the road.
