Vagrants sleeping, rubbish, broken fixtures: Kallang Riverside Park is eyesore
STOMPer Wanderer says Kallang Park is becoming an eyesore, thanks to sleeping vagrants, rubbish and broken fixtures.

He says:

“These pictures were taken at the Kallang Riverside Park.

“The first photo shows a wooden bench provided by NParks has fallen apart.

“Exposed to rain and sun, time has taken its toll on the lifespan of this bench.

“The second photo shows a very tired motorcyclist has chosen to sleep in the rain shelter and he was oblivious to passersby.

“The third photo shows a man who decides to sleep in the park even if he is taking a risk of being fined.

“In the fourth photo, you can see that the rusty railing beside the river is an eyesore. These rusty railings should be replaced with new railings before someone falls into the river.

“The last photo shows the amount of garbage thrown into the river pollutes our river.

“NEA has suspended a net from the bridge to catch all the floating debris and this is one way to keep our rivers clean.

“The river is important as it is being used daily by our canoeists to practise their sailing skill.

“If the garbage is not trapped and removed it will ultimately reach the sea coast beside the Singapore Flyer.”
