Actually, important flight safety messages are transmitted in this announcement, so it’s critical that airlines make people pay attention.
STOMPer DJAM received this video via email about how the cabin crew of a Southwest Airline spices things up with a male flight attendant rapping out the safety message. He got the passengers to participate by clapping their hands.
“Hey, even I, who is guilty of not paying attention to the pre-flight message, perked up immediately,” says DJAM who travels frequently.
He’s not asking SIA to get its Singapore Girls to rap (that would be a disaster), but maybe it ought to come up with some ideas to make the pre-flight announcement more compelling.
At the end, the cool flight attendant says that passengers won’t get to see such a performance on United, Southwest’s rival. Not on SIA too, says DJAM.
